A 13-Year-Old Boy Ends Up Killing Minor After An Argument
Police in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district said on Thursday that a 13-year-old boy was accused of killing another minor boy, age 12, after an argument over playing cricket.
According to them, the incident occurred on June 3 when the accused allegedly hit the victim on the head with a bat, after which the victim died on June 5 while undergoing treatment.
According to a city police station official, the deceased’s family later buried the body without filing a police report.
His mother contacted police on Tuesday, and the body was exhumed on Wednesday for an investigation, he said.
On June 3, some boys from the Bagadkidki area were playing cricket on a nearby pitch.
The victim got into a fight with other boys during the game, and the accused allegedly hit him with a bat, according to the official.
The victim collapsed to the ground. He was immediately taken to the District General Hospital, where he died on June 5 while receiving treatment, he said.
His relatives then performed the funeral without filing a police report. However, his mother approached the police on Tuesday and filed a complaint, according to the official.
According to him, the body was later exhumed by police as part of an investigation into the case.
The accused was charged with murder under Indian Penal Code Section 302, according to the official, who added that the boy had yet to be apprehended.
