Naba Kishore Das to receive state of honor
After the tragic death of Odisha’s Health and family welfare minister Naba Kishore Das, the state government said state honour would be accorded to him. The welfare minister, Naba Das died in hospital hours after being shot by a policeman.

In a press release issued by the state government said that there will be no official entertainment for three days from January 29-31 throughout the state.
The official release said, “It has been decided by the Government of Odisha that as a mark of respect, state honour would be accorded to the departed dignitary.”
“National flag will be flown at half-mast on the day of death in the state capital and on the day of the funeral at the place where it takes place,” the release added.

Naba Das was shot by a policeman
The 60 years-old welfare minister, Naba Das was shot at Brajrajnagar town on Sunday around 1 pm by Assistant Sub-inspector of Police (ASI) Gopal Das, who is believed to be suffering from a mental disorder. The assistant sub-inspector was nabbed by local residents and handed over to the police.
A team of doctors at Apollo Hospital operated on him after he was airlifted from Jharsugada to Bhubaneshwar. However, he eventually succumbed to injuries.
Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik expressed condolence
While expressing condolence over Naba’s death, the chief minister, Naveen Patnaik said the Biju Janata Dal leader was an asset to the government and his party.
