Rajnath Singh & Navy Chief To Join Naval Commander’s Conference At Sea Onboard INS Vikrant Today

 The Commander’s Conference of the Navy is going to begin today on 6 March at sea at INS Vikrant. Defence minister Rajnath Singh will address the top commanders of the Navy on the first day of this five-day-long conference.

Significant discussions are to be held during the Naval Commander’s Conference in which military and strategic course of action related to security is to be discussed. The operations, logistics, training, human resources and future plans will be discussed along with assessing the operations done in the last six months during the conference.

A special discussion is also expected on the increasing activities of China in the Indian Ocean. Hardly any Navy conference has taken place in the middle of the sea. Earlier in 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Joint Commanders’ Conference on board INS Vikramaditya. Six months have passed since INS Vikrant joined the Navy, and at present, the trial of fighter jets to be deployed on it is going on.

Naval Commanders Conference will witness defence minister Rajnath Singh, the Navy Chief and over 20 commanders presence in the discussion of the Indian Navy’s future warfare today. In the discussion, the Indian Navy’s future warfare from logistics to operations along with the scheme utilizing the capabilities of Agneepath soldiers onboard INS Vikrant.

Significantly, the Chinese ships’ presence in the Indian Ocean and South China Sea is seen increasing day by day. The Navy chief has been monitoring the situation. There are several matters of concern at present including the Indian Navy’s domination, its operational capability along with logistics enhancement while showing power under make in India policy.

Earlier naval commanders, including the Andaman Nicobar command commander, have been participating in the previous editions of the conference. The first session this time is going to be addressed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today March 06.

The conference onboard INS Vikrant is being held in view of PM Modi’s long vision in which he has been suggesting that commanders’ conferences should not be restricted to the Capital only. It should also proceed to the other operational area. The naval commander conference earlier took place in INS Vikramaditya eight years ago in 2015. At present it’s time for INS Vikrant to host the vital meet after 6 months of its induction.
