Road Accidents in India: The ministry of Road Transport and Highways has recently released a report on the Road Accidents in India. The report was made out of the data collected in and for the year 2021. As per the report, Tamil Nadu recorded the highest number of National Highway road mishaps in 2021.
In the span of one year a total number of four lakh, twelve thousand and four hundred thirty two road accidents have been reported in India in 2021. These accidents claim one lakh, fifty four thousand lives. Also around more than three lakh and eighty four thousand people had injuries in the mishaps during the year.
6 to 9 is the worst period
Observing the accident patterns in last five years, the data suggests that the time interval between 6 in the evening to to 9 at night records maximum number of road mishaps in the year 2021.
The second riskiest hours
The government data also displays that the time period between 3pm to 6pm has been the second riskiest in view of the road accidents in India. Thus the data shows the afternoon and evening times are the most dangerous hours to be on the road since it comprises around thirty nine percent of the total recorded road accidents.
Nights are the safest
Talk about the safest time period on Indian streets, as per the report, the time duration between 12am to 6am is the safest as it witnesses less than ten percent of the total road mishaps registered in the year 2021.
