World does not see India and Pakistan on equal terms: S Jaishankar

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar says -‘Today, no body sees  India and Pakistan equally.’

S Jaishankar was addressing the students of Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, where he said, “When I was of your age, that time there was an era where the world used to behold India and Pakistan equally.’

On 11th of December 2022, while speaking on Indo-Pakistan relationship, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar did not mice words and told the reality about the global stature of the two countries.

S Jaishankar said, today regionally India is much more dominant than any other country, now nobody sees India, Pakistan on equal terms. “Our country has clearly emerged out as the primary power in the region.” The External Affairs Minister also hailed India’s rise to the 5th largest economy in the world.

Amidst the constant applause by the students of Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, the external affairs minister enjoyed his session of elocution. He held that “When I was of your age, that was the time when the world saw India and Pakistan on equal terms. And now nobody does that, not even Pakistan. India clearly has emerged in the region as the primary power.”

 

In a latest tweet, the External Affairs Minister writes that – Today India is much more dominant regionally. There was an era when the world used to see India and Pakistan on equal terms. Today nobody does that, not even Pakistan. We have clearly come out in the region as the primary power.

Hailing India as a leading power in the IT sector with its proficient human resources, Jaishankar admires the Indian diaspora. Acknowledging their potential with their contribution to “the rise of India” as well as their “increasingly important role in the global world”, Jaishankar said “Ten to fifteen years back, our country used to be at the world’s back office in terms of IT. Today, world increasingly see Indians as innovators. The world is watching skill and talent in Indians and the world tries to integrate it into their business world.”
