Now in the latest update over the Sexual Harassment row in the WFI, Divya Kakran defends WFI chief Brij Bhushan, saying no one ever has experienced or witnessed any such instances of sexual harassment in the federation.

Wrestler Divya Kakran, known as the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games medalist wrestler, came forward to defend Brij Bhushan Saran Singh, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief. The chief has been accused of sexual harassment following the allegation by one of the top Indian female wrestlers, Vinesh Phogat.

Divya Karan now says that she hasn’t ever witnessed or experienced any instances of such kind by the federation chief in her decade-long experience while attending camps organised by the WFI.  On the other hand, Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat have come out in support of Vinesh, hailing the protesting wrestlers for showing courage against the WFI.

Coming into action, the Sports Ministry has given seventy-two hours for the wrestling body to respond to the sexual harassment allegation.

While staging protest against the WFI, Vinesh Phogat also revealed that she was given death threats, and was also labelled traitor after the Olympics.

In her allegations, Vinesh Phogat on Wednesday also alleged that Wrestling Federation of India’s favorite coaches misbehave with women and also harass them. Vinesh accused that the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh sexually harassed girls and called her a ‘khota sikka’ following her defeat during the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
