Jaipur’s Achievers Polo Team Created History, Won 18 Out Of 24 Tournaments This Season

The Jaipur-based ACHIEVERS Polo Team made history in the 2022–23 Indian Polo Season by winning 18 of the 24 matches that were contested as part of the IPA polo schedule.

Achievers Team, which won in the years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and now in 2022–23, became the first team in Indian Polo history to win the championship five years in a row.

In the history of Indian polo, no other team had ever achieved this success rate for five years in a row. In fact, this year’s Achievers have improved upon their previous record.

The famous “Jaipur Tigers,” led by the late His Highness Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur, are the only other team that comes close in terms of performance and results. In the 1932–1933 polo season, the team won most of the top polo tournaments in India and abroad.

The group won every one of the three open competitions played this season. This includes Indian Open Public Title, Northern India Open Title, and Jaipur Open Title and furthermore had the unmistakable honour of winning a large portion of the main competitions at Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Mumbai
Indian Open Title is the Public Title of Polo and each Indian Polo Player dreams to win it.

Key players of the tournament

Shamsheer Ali, an Indian polo captain who competed for the Achievers team was a member of the team this year. Chris Mackenzie, a polo genius from South Africa, was the other star player. Other noticeable players of the group this season included Daniel Otamendi, Siddhant Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Dhruvpal Godara, Hurr Ali, Himmat Bedla, Vishwarupe Bajaj and Dino Dhankar.

As part of the Indian Polo Association Calendar season, which spans more than six months. This includes twenty-four tournaments played over twenty-four weeks. The team won all eight tournaments held in Delhi, Mumbai and Jodhpur, and five of the ten tournaments held in Jaipur. The Achievers group had the honour of winning Five of the Six Significant standard competitions coordinated across India.
