Mumbai Indians is back on its track! After suffering from back-to-back defeats at the beginning of IPL 2023, Rohit Sharma’s MI finally registered its third win on the trot on Tuesday. The five-time winner has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs at the Orange Army in Hyderabad. Now, the MI has jumped to the No. 6 position in the IPL 2023 points table and has the same number of points as the second-placed Lucknow Super Giants, the third-placed Chennai Super Kings, the Gujarat Titans, and the Punjab Kings. However, amid inferior net run rates in comparison to them, they are outside of the playoff as of now.

During the match, Mumbai’s Australian all-rounder Cameron Green impressed with his performance with both bat and ball. He first remained not out on 64 runs from 40 balls after coming out to bat at No. 3 and then picked up one wicket that was of SRH skipper Aiden Markram, in his quota of four overs and only conceded 29 runs.

That’s not the end, apart from him, Tilak Verma, who is representing MI in the IPL 2023 has also stunned MI’s fans with his outstanding performance. He scored 37 runs from just 17 balls. During his stay at the crease, the 20-year-old batter smashed two fours and four sixes. He has looked in good touch in all five matches played so far, and the left-handed batter became the first player from the MI squad to cross the 200-run mark.

While speaking at the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma said, “I like the approach of Tilak; we will see him in some other team as well soon (smiles).”

Tilak, who made his IPL debut last year and played in all 14 matches, has represented India A and has a first-class century to his name.
