FIFA 2022: Uproar after France’s victory, Moroccan fans out of control, created havoc

FIFA 2022: Massive riots broke out after Morocco’s 0-2 defeat against France in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In videos going viral on social media, football fans can be seen turning violent in the streets of some cities in France and Belgium, as France progressed to the FIFA World Cup finals, and Morocco’s successful finish.

FIFA 2022: Moroccan fans could not tolerate this defeat of their team. The Moroccan fans were out of control, after which the police had to take charge.

The frustration increased so much that the fans also clashed with the police and not only this, there were clashes between supporters of Morocco and France at many places in France This is not the first time Moroccan fans have been seen performing like this. Moroccan fans earlier went on a rampage in the streets of Paris after their national team’s victory over Portugal in the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals.

 

Significantly, the police was already deployed in many cities including Paris because the match was very big for both the countries. More than 2000 armed police with riot equipment were deployed near the Champs-Élysées in Paris before the start of the match. However, the police took action on this matter as soon as possible and had controlled it to a great extent even before the controversy escalated.

Moroccan dream shattered

The first goal in the match for France came in the fifth minute when Theo Hernandez shocked Morocco. After this, in the 79th minute, Randall Kolo Mouni scored the second goal for the team and shattered the hopes of Morocco. Randal Kolo landed as Muani Substitute. 44 seconds after landing on the field, Muani put the ball in the goalpost and thus France took a 2-0 lead.

Final match on 18 December

At the same time, the Moroccan team kept trying till the last moment but could not score a goal and with the ringing of the hooter, Morocco’s dream of reaching the final of the FIFA World Cup for the first time was shattered. Defending champion France has reached the final of the FIFA World Cup for the second time in a row and for the fourth time in total. France will face Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final on 18 December. Whereas, Morocco will take on Croatia on December 17 in the match for the third place.
