Naik Ghadge at the post he had single-handedly taken for the Allies, hit by sniper fire in the chest and back. Because of his valour, the Germans were forced to leave position 624, enabling the Mahrattas to advance.

This was a tribute to the Indian troops who fought during Italian Campaign during the Second World War, and to honour Naik Yeshwant Ghadge, Victoria Cross, who was killed in action fighting on the heights of Upper Tiber Valley

Taking to Twitter, France's ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain said, "A warm welcome to France for the Indian Rafale jets that will soar in the skies of Paris on Friday for #BastilleDay!"

Colonel Sudhir Chamoli, announced, “The Bastille Day parade will feature a 269-member tri-services contingent from the Indian Armed Forces marching alongside their French counterparts. The contingent has departed for France today.”
