Kanya Pujan by CM Yogi along with Vijayadashmi Procession

On the ninth day of Navratri, CM Yogi is performing the tradition ‘Kanya Pujan’ which will be followed by the Vijayadashami procession from Gorakhnath temple in Goarakhpur.

Staying at the Gorakhnath temple for last couple of days, Yogi Adityanath has been preoccupied doing the Havan and the ritual of Mahanisha Puja for honoring the occasion of Ashtami also.

Now the Chief Minister is going to lead the traditional Vijayadashami procession after completing the Kanya Pujan from Gorakhnath temple.

This is the ‘Tilkotsava’ going on at the Gorakhnath temple where CM Yogi had placed the Kalash. The Kalash Sthapana was done by him at the Shaktipeeth, located on temple premises where he has been offering his prayers to Jagdamba Maa Adishakti.

In the later half of the day the traditional Vijayadashmi procession has to be led by the CM with a chariot ride leaving from the Gorakhnath temple.

At the outset of Ram Navmi, the Chief Minister had also performed Ghat Sthapana ritual Shaktipeeth located on temple premises.

The chief minister’s office reads, “On the occasion of Navami CM Yogi Adityanath is going to perform ‘Kanya Pujan’ (worshiping of maidens) in the morning at 8 o’clock following the prayer offerings to Maa Siddhidatri,  ninth form of NavDurga. As per the tradition, he is also going wash the feet of the nine maidens putting tilak on the foreheads with roli, akshat, curd and sandalwood.”
