The Karachi police caught a three-man group that used to steal cooking oil from a police van.

According to authorities, over five suspected members of the gangs were identified during a raid near the Garden Headquarters on Thursday.

Among those arrested are the owner of a go-down, a worker, and a police officer. The police also stated that armed individuals in a police van used to plunder goods cars hauling cooking oil in District Central.

Several robberies were recorded last month. Following the robbery, the suspects would hide the cooking oil in the go-down.

Clifton division police apprehended two suspects earlier this month after a successful tip-off operation in response to a number of home invasions in the Defence and Clifton areas.

Ashraf alias Achho and Asif are accused of leading a gang of criminals that perpetrated many robberies in Karachi’s upscale district.

According to Ahmed Chaudhry, Superintendent of Police (SP) Clifton, the three robbers from the Achho gang are purportedly the most wanted by the police.

During the operation, the police discovered a substantial amount of jewels and other valuable items worth millions of dollars.

The police also seized the instruments used in the crime from the accused.

Clifton SP claimed that the gang had three members and that one of their accomplices, Khurshid, was already in jail for his involvement in previous crimes.

The police officer stated in a statement that the gang has been active in robberies for about 16 years, causing enormous losses to the citizens of the area.
