Brazil Apartment Building Collapse: 14 Dead

Civil defence officials confirmed on Saturday that a residential building collapse in northern Brazil killed 14 people after the last missing people were discovered lifeless.

The fall occurred on Friday in the Janga neighbourhood on the outskirts of Recife, the city of Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil.

The Building fell when many occupants were still sleeping due to severe rain in the area.

According to a civil defence statement, three persons survived the fall, the cause of which is unknown.

Pernambuco Governor Raquel Lyra offered her condolences on Twitter, promising that the state administration will make every effort to assist families in need.
