PM Modi Fixes Problems With Overseas Citizen Of India Cards On Reunion Island

On the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi will join the Bastille Day Parade on Friday in the role of Guest of Honour. The 25th anniversary of the “strategic partnership” between the two nations falls during PM Modi’s trip to France.

According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on Thursday, Reunion Island’s OCI card problems have been handled. OCI cards are being issued there, he claimed, and the government is currently working to find a solution for Martinique and Guadeloupe.

At La Seine Musicale in Paris, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Indian diaspora and declared, “Every Indian living abroad is as much a priority for us as my countryman living in India.”
“When NITI Aayog was established a few years ago, we properly acknowledged the potential and contributions of the Indian diaspora. I’m delighted to report that Reunion Island’s OCI card problems are finally fixed. OCI cards are now being issued there, according to Modi.

He continued, “We are also working to find a solution in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

PM Modi also discussed academics and professionals from various nations who are curious about how they might connect India with their expertise and knowledge. He claimed that it is now simpler for professors and academics to lecture in Indian colleges.
“Friends, many people, such as teachers and professors, are involved in academia and research in France and other countries. When I run across these academics and professionals abroad, they also ask how they can apply their knowledge, experience, and experience to India. Let me also tell you that we have respected these professors, which is fantastic news. Such buddies now have it simpler to teach in Indian colleges, according to PM Modi.
He declared that Indian students seeking master’s degrees in France will now be granted a long-term post-study visa valid for five years.

The last time I visited France, it had been decided to grant 2-year post-study work visas to Indian students studying there. Now, it has also been agreed to grant Indians pursuing master’s degrees in France a lengthy post-study visa of five years, according to PM Modi.

The decision by the Indian government to establish a new consulate in Marseille was also made public by PM Modi. He declared that France and India had agreed to deploy UPI, and that it will start at the Eiffel Tower.

Whether it was India’s UPI or other digital platforms, PM Modi stated in his speech, “They have brought about a major societal shift in the country and I am delighted that India and France are also working together in this regard. France and India have decided to adopt UPI there. When we reach a consensus, I’ll depart. However, it is your responsibility to proceed. Friends, in a few days it will start from the Eiffel Tower, which means visitors from India will now be able to pay at the Eiffel Tower using UPI in Rupees.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Modi stated that France and India have been collaborating on archaeological missions for a while. He emphasised how the development of digital infrastructure improves bilateral relations.

“Very few people are aware that France and India have been collaborating on archaeological missions for a while. It now extends to Ladakh from Chandigarh. Another industry that improves relations between India and France is digital infrastructure, according to PM Modi.
A formal greeting was given to the Prime Minister when he arrived in Paris on Thursday on a two-day official visit. Elisabeth Borne, the French prime minister, met him at the airport.
