Due to a lack of evidence, a special CBI court cleared Sooraj Pancholi of the charges of aiding Jiah Khan’s suicide.
A. S. Sayyad, a judge of the Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court, delivered the verdict, stating that the lack of evidence prevented the court from finding Sooraj Pancholi guilty.

Sooraj Pancholi (32), who is at present temporarily free from jail, was charged under the IPC segment 306 abetments of self-destruction. Rabia Khan, Jiah Khan’s mother, had been asserting that her daughter had been killed.
