Alternative arrangements have been made to transport the passengers back to Hyderabad using another train.

In a separate incident a few days earlier, a fire broke out in the general coach of the parked Kannur-Alappuzha Executive Express (16306) at Kannur Railway Station around 1:25 am on Thursday morning. To prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the train, authorities decided to separate the affected coaches as a proactive measure. This swift action effectively contained the fire, saving the rest of the train from further damage. Originally scheduled to depart at 5:10 am, the train was rescheduled due to the incident.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) has determined that the fire was a result of miscreant activity, leading to the registration of a case based on the complaint filed by the on-duty Station Master. Forensic experts visited the site at 9 am on Thursday to gather evidence and aid in the investigation.
