Noida: Drunk Man’s Body Recovered From Drain After 25 hours

The body of a 35-year-old man, who jumped into a drain in Noida while he was intoxicated, was pulled out yesterday, after an interminable search of 25 hours.

The body of a 35-year-old man, who jumped into a drain in Noida while he was intoxicated, was pulled out yesterday, after an interminable search of 25 hours, said the police.

Locals notified the officials at Sector 49 police station on Thursday that Subhash alias Sitti, a resident of JJ Colony in Sector 50, had jumped into a drain under the influence of alcohol and gone missing amid heavy rainfall.

A police spokesperson said, “Taking immediate action on the information, the local police with the help of the fire brigade tirelessly searched for Subhash in the drain. Divers and fishing nets were also used but could not find him due to the strong flow of water.” Following tireless efforts of 25 hours, the police managed to recover the dead body from the drain near Sector 101.

The spot where the inebriated man jumped from was five kilometres from where his body was retrieved. The police said that they have showed the body to his relatives and sent it for post-mortem. Moreover, further legal proceedings are underway.
