Along with the mission’s update, ISRO also released images of the moon captured by the Lander Position Detection Camera (LPDC) from an altitude of about 70 km.

Live actions will be available on the ISRO website, its YouTube channel, Facebook, and public broadcaster DD National TV from 17:27 IST on Aug 23, 2023...

As the Chandrayaan 3 mission progresses and GSAT-24 takes its place among India's communication satellites, the nation's scientific and technological prowess continues to reach new heights. Simon Wong, the High Commissioner of Singapore to India, expressed his congratulations to both India and the ISRO for the Chandrayaan-3 insertion phase on Sunday.

Before the spacecraft aims to soft-land on the Moon's surface on August 23, this was one of the most crucial tasks, giving India an admission into the elite league of nations to do so.

Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar exploration mission, will make India the fourth country after US, China, and Russia, to land its spacecraft on the surface of the moon.

Chandrayaan-3 is now orbiting the Earth in elliptical orbits, progressively increasing the heights of these orbits in preparation for its planned soft landing on the Moon's surface next month.

Chandrayaan-3 is the ISRO's follow-up attempt after the Chandrayaan-2 mission faced challenges during its soft landing on the lunar surface in 2019.

The Indian Space Research Organisation, on July 14, successfully launched its third edition of Moon exploration programme from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, aimed at making a soft landing on the unexplored South Pole of the Moon.

The health of the spacecraft was "normal", ISRO said in a social media post.

Chandrayaan-3 mission will demonstrate safe and soft landing on lunar surface, rover roving on the moon and conduct in-situ scientific experiments.
